Mountain Bike Trails:Cannock Chase is a magnet to the biking community. Trails vary: “Follow the Dog” (Red) 11 km; “The Monkey Trail” (Red with Black options) 24 km; “Fair Oak Family Trail” (Green) 4 km; the two Sherbrook Loops: “Pepperslade Loop” (Blue) 12km and “Abraham’s Loop” (Blue) 20km. Style Cop Bike Park. Two down-hill sister trails exist at the steep Style Cop hill: unsuitable for inexperienced riders.
Military History:Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, was the site of Military Camps in the late 19th century, in the 1st and 2nd World Wars and of an RAF training camp on Marquis Drive into the 1950s. Refugees from the 1956 Hungarian Revolution were housed in the closed RAF camp. A scale model of the 1st World War Belgian battlefield, Messines Ridge, will be based at the Marquis Drive Visitors’ Centre.
